On April 28, 2025, a memorial event was held at OKI Hospital in honor of the 102nd anniversary of the birth of Academician Zarifa Aliyeva

Zarifa Aliyeva made a significant contribution to the development of Azerbaijani medical science, becoming well-known for her fundamental scientific research in the field of ophthalmology. Her achievements in the treatment of occupational pathologies of the eye, trachoma, and other infectious eye diseases were highly recognized both in our country and in international scientific circles. In addition, Zarifa Aliyeva played an irreplaceable role in pedagogy, contributing to the training of young specialists.

The event was attended by the head of the Executive Authority of the Qusar district, Mr. Sahir Mammadkhanov, a member of the Board of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee, Mr. Azer Badamov, and the Chairman of the YAP Qusar district organization, Mr. David Ibramkhelilov.

The director of OKİ Hospital, Dr. Malik Kerimov, in his speech, discussed the irreplaceable role of Zarifa Aliyeva in the development of Azerbaijani healthcare, her determination, and her dedication to medicine and science.

Speakers emphasized that Zarifa Aliyeva left a deep mark on people's memories not only as a brilliant scientist but also as a person devoted to her family, children, and homeland.

The memory of great figures such as the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, and the distinguished ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was honored with a moment of silence.
